Welcome to Warriors Apparel and Wheeling 4 Warriors. My name is Alexandra, but most people know me as Lexi. I am the founder and owner of Wheeling 4 Warriors and Warriors Apparel. I have been active in the veteran community for over 11 years. I have been able to get an inside look at the issues and problems this community faces daily. Many of these issues, such as suicide prevention and mental health awareness, have not been addressed.
In 2018, I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. Because of this diagnosis, I was medically separated from the military. It was important to me to stay involved in the community; so in 2020, I created Wheeling 4 Warriors. The importance of mental health awareness is not exclusive to the military community; it also extends to first responders.
When I created Wheeling 4 Warriors, the primary goal was to assist veterans, but it has grown into so much more. Like many of the other organizations that assist veterans, it was created to raise money, help others in need, and be a source of information to assist with financial hardship, fundraising, and/or mental health needs.
Prior to creating Wheeling 4 Warriors, I came up with an idea that most people would call crazy. I wanted to go to events, network, and gather names of the Fallen, not just in the military but also first responders. These men and women either lost their life due to fighting mental health demons or they made the ultimate sacrifice. It was important that I find a way to honor as many heroes as possible. As I gathered these names, I made decals and stuck them all over my Jeep Wrangler. These names, along with the Jeep, serve as a Moving Memorial that I can drive everywhere. I now travel state to state holding Wheeling 4 Warrior events, going to other organizations' events, attending fundraisers, and I use the Jeep in my everyday life. Not only do I talk about suicide prevention at these events, but it is also a conversation starter about the importance of the military and mental health.
Three years after Wheeling 4 Warriors and the Moving Memorial, Warriors Apparel was created. Warriors Apparel strives to be motivated by money for others, not ourselves. It’s obvious that money is important, and to make money you have to spend money. We are also aware that the future endeavors for Warriors Apparel will not be cheap. However, Warriors Apparel believes there has to be a healthy balance. When you make a purchase from this company, your money will go to serve a larger purpose. We will take a portion of our profits from your purchase and will be donating to a non profit or a worthy cause. Because so many people have been taken advantage of in the past, Warriors Apparel will make all donations public and all money, taken in and spent, will be accounted for.
In 2014, I lost my best friend to suicide. She has become my muse for almost everything and everyone that I have worked with and/or helped. Warriors Apparel's final goal is creating a place called Leeloo’s Ranch. Leeloo was my friend’s nickname and it would honor her and other warriors that have been lost. Leeloo’s Ranch will start by buying a large piece of land. There, I will create a space for fundraisers, events for guest speakers, outdoor activities, and more. The possibilities are endless for Leeloo’s Ranch with your help.
New products will be added to the Warriors Apparel website every month. We invite you to help us make a difference by checking out our products, and we encourage you to buy products that will serve a higher purpose.
Sincerely,
Lexi
